EmuconfigAPP Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the Android app “AntiBoring Config Manager” (package com.ryanretro.emuconfig), operated by Anti Boring Limited. The app supports emulator configuration, ROM-folder identification, recovery-resource downloads, restore-task management, and emulator installation flows on supported handheld devices.

The app requests the Google Drive read-only scope only after you start a feature that requires designated cloud recovery files. Although the scope can technically read Drive files you may access, the app requests only file IDs specified by its restore catalog or workflow and does not list or search your Drive.

The data is used only to authenticate, download, resume, and verify designated restore manifests, configuration archives, ROM archives, or emulator packages. The app does not upload, modify, rename, delete, or publish Drive files and does not request your Google profile, email, or contacts.

OAuth access tokens remain transient in app memory and Google Play services' managed cache. They are not saved in the app database, preferences, downloads, or logs and are sent only to www.googleapis.com over HTTPS. The app's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.

Core features may locally process device model and Android version, storage-volume details, installed emulator package names, ROM and configuration file names and paths, sizes and hashes, selected folder grants, download and restore progress, diagnostics, and your in-app selections. This information supports compatibility checks, storage planning, file verification, and task resumption. The app does not send this local data to servers operated by Anti Boring Limited.

The app uses internet access; all-files or legacy storage access; Android's Storage Access Framework; optional Shizuku authorization; notifications, foreground data sync, and wake lock; permission to request APK installation; and limited app visibility. These capabilities support downloads, ROM and configuration discovery, user-initiated file operations, long-running task status, installation confirmation, and detecting supported emulators. The app does not request precise location, contacts, SMS, call logs, microphone, or camera access.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data for advertising. Necessary interactions may occur with Google for OAuth and Drive files, Android system components and optional Shizuku services for permissions and user-initiated operations, and third-party emulator or distribution services that you choose to open or use. Each third party processes data under its own terms. Information may also be disclosed where legally required or necessary to protect rights and safety.

Settings, task progress, folder grants, restore logs, temporary downloads, and local databases remain on your device until a task cleans them up, you remove them in the app, clear app storage, or uninstall the app. Files written to shared storage, SD cards, or other emulator folders may remain after uninstalling. Safeguards include HTTPS, constrained network destinations, non-persistent access tokens, non-exported services, integrity checks, and Android sandboxing; no system can guarantee absolute security.

You may refuse or revoke Google Drive, storage, notification, APK-installation, or Shizuku permissions. You may revoke Google authorization through your Google Account, clear app storage or uninstall the app to remove app-controlled local data, and separately delete files written to shared storage or emulator folders. Contact us to exercise any additional rights available under applicable law.

The app is intended for general users who can manage Android storage, software installation, and emulator settings. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate guardian consent.

We may update this policy as features, laws, or platform requirements change. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes to the use of Google user data will be disclosed before implementation, and renewed consent will be obtained where required.
