EmuconfigAPP Terms of Service

1. Scope of Services

AntiBoring Emu Config Manager (package com.ryanretro.emuconfig) is provided by Anti Boring Limited. It helps users of supported Android handhelds identify devices, installed emulators and ROM folders; apply or restore emulator configurations; download, verify and install resources identified by an app catalog or restore manifest; manage local task progress; and perform user-authorized file operations through Android storage APIs or Shizuku. The app does not provide a cloud account and is not an official product of any emulator project, hardware manufacturer, Google, Shizuku, or content owner.

2. Acceptance of Terms and Eligibility

By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. You must be old enough to consent under applicable law, or a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms for you. The app is not directed to children under 13.

3. Software License and Intellectual Property Rights

Subject to these Terms, Anti Boring Limited grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use the app on compatible devices you control. Except where open-source licenses or non-waivable law permit, you may not sell, rent, sublicense, commercially redistribute, bypass security or authorization controls, maliciously reverse engineer or modify the app, create misleading derivatives, or remove rights notices. Third-party components remain subject to their licenses, and all rights in emulators, games, ROMs, firmware, BIOS files, artwork, and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

4. User Responsibilities and Acceptable Use

You are responsible for the content and devices you select, download, install, copy, delete, or modify. Use only ROMs, games, firmware, BIOS files, configurations, and software that you own or are lawfully authorized to use. Follow applicable laws and licenses, make verified backups before any restore or file replacement, confirm the correct device and storage target, review permission prompts, and do not use the app for malware, infringement, DRM circumvention, or unauthorized access. The app is a technical tool and grants no rights in third-party content.

5. Google and Other Third-Party Services

The app may interact with Google Play services, the Google Drive API, Android system pickers and installers, Shizuku, Google Play, third-party emulators, and resource hosts. Those services are independently controlled, governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and may change or become unavailable. They may require separate accounts, authorizations, connectivity, regional eligibility, or licenses. Google Drive authorization is used only for designated restore files as described in the Google user data section. A link or catalog entry is not a warranty or endorsement of a third-party product.

6. Service Availability, Updates, and Compatibility

We may update, fix, restrict, suspend, or discontinue features and change supported devices, emulators, formats, manifests, or download sources. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, universal compatibility, continued availability of third-party APIs or files, compatibility of old configurations with new emulator versions, or completion of operations affected by systems, networks, storage media, or user actions. Current versions may be required for security or compatibility.

7. Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app and related catalogs, configurations, instructions, and download functions are provided “as is” and “as available,” without express, implied, or statutory warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, security, completeness, or continued availability. Configuration, restore, deletion, replacement, storage-card, and APK-installation operations can cause setting changes, data loss, app failure, storage damage, or reconfiguration. Verify targets and keep independent backups. Non-waivable consumer guarantees remain unaffected.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Anti Boring Limited and its officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential loss arising from use or inability to use the app, including loss of data, ROMs, configurations, profit, revenue, opportunity, or device use, even if advised of the possibility. Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including where applicable fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or personal injury. Some jurisdictions may not allow all limitations.

9. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using and uninstall the app at any time and revoke Drive access through your Google Account. Your license ends if you materially breach these Terms. Because the app has no operator-hosted account, we generally cannot remotely disable a local installation, but updates, catalogs, download sources, or Google API client support may be discontinued. Provisions that by their nature should survive will remain effective.

10. Amendments to Terms and Governing Law

We may update these Terms as features, laws, third-party services, or platform policies change. Revisions will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance; otherwise, stop using and uninstall the app. These Terms are interpreted under applicable law without depriving you of mandatory consumer rights in your place of residence. Disputes should first be addressed through good-faith communication and, if unresolved, by a court or dispute-resolution body with lawful jurisdiction.
